* WHAT...Water levels 1.5 to 2.5 feet above the normal highest tide line. * WHERE...Along the Kuskokwim Delta coast, including the communities of Kwigillingok, Kongiganak, and Kipnuk. * WHEN...Until 9 PM AKDT Sunday, during high tide. * IMPACTS...Coastal erosion and flooding of low lying areas is likely. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Southerly winds pushing water toward the shore is causing high water levels this afternoon, with the 3PM observation from Kwigillingok reporting 1.4 feet above the normal highest tide line and some increase still possible before water levels recede this evening. Successive high tides on Saturday and Sunday are expected to reach similar water levels to today as wind shifts southeasterly and strengthens. Winds diminish for Monday, likely ending the threat of flooding during high tide.
