Description:
Persistent heavy rain this morning will create minor flooding in
low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Autauga, Elmore, Lowndes and Montgomery.
* WHEN...Until 1100 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 907 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Montgomery, Prattville, Millbrook, Wetumpka, Elmore, Coosada,
Deatsville, Autaugaville, White Hall, Lowndesboro, Bob
Woodruff Lake, Hunter, Maxwell Air Force Base, Boylston,
Montgomery Zoo, Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium, Alabama State
Capitol, Autauga County Airport, Gunter Air Force Base and
Alabama State University.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
