* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central New York, including the following
county, Steuben.
* WHEN...Until 800 AM EDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 113 AM EDT, Emergency management reported heavy rain that
led to flooding of State Routes 36, 417, and County Route 68
at Honey Run Road. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the
warned area from the next round of showers.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hornell, Canisteo, Woodhull, Jasper, Troupsburg, Arkport,
Greenwood, Hartsville, South Dansville, North Hornell, Buena
Vista, West Greenwood, Young Hickory and Willeyville.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Weather Service when you can do so safely.
