Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. The
gauge at DSVN6 on the Canaseraga Creek peaked at 8.36 feet at
11:15 PM this past evening. The level is falling, however still
remains well above normal. Emergency management and law
enforcement reported the river level running high on the creek. At
this time, impacts are minimal, however flooding is expected along
the creek due to readings well above normal.
* WHERE...A portion of western New York, including the following
county, Livingston.
* WHEN...Until 445 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 139 AM EDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the warned area, including along the Canaseraga
Creek and its tributaries.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Dansville and Groveland.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Flooding is occurring or is imminent. It is important to know where
you are relative to streams, rivers, or creeks which can become
killers in heavy rains. Campers and hikers should avoid streams or
creeks.
