* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Potomac River at Point of Rocks.
* WHEN...Until early Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Floodwaters completely cover the comfort
station at the Brunswick boat ramp, and reach the comfort station
at the Point of Rocks boat ramp. The upper parking lot at the
Point of Rocks boat ramp begins to flood.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:00 AM EDT Thursday the stage was 23.0 feet, or 6.9 feet
above flood stage.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 AM EDT Thursday was 23.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 23.7
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
23.5 feet on 06/18/1910.
