Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of Central Kansas, including the following
counties, Chase and Marion.
* WHEN...Until 245 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1033 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
Between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1.5 to 2 inches are possible
in the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hillsboro, Marion, Peabody, Cottonwood Falls, Strong City,
Florence, Goessel, Burns, Lincolnville, Ramona, Lehigh,
Tampa, Durham, Bazaar, Lost Springs, Elmdale, Matfield Green,
Cedar Point, Wonsevu and Pilsen.
Instruction:
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
