...The National Weather Service in Wichita KS has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in Kansas...
West Branch Walnut River at El Dorado affecting Butler County.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...West Branch Walnut River at El Dorado.
* WHEN...From this afternoon to tomorrow evening.
* IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Roads flood in northeast El Dorado between
8th Avenue and 12th Avenue. Then 10 miles north of El Dorado,
flood waters cover county roads from northwest 75th to 110th.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:00 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 21.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 26.0
feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below
flood stage tomorrow morning.
- Flood stage is 21.0 feet.
Instruction:
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
