Cottonwood River at Cottonwood Falls affecting Chase County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Cottonwood River at Cottonwood Falls. * WHEN...Until early Saturday morning. * IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, In Strong City flood waters cover Highway 177 in and around 2nd Street where this section of town sits lower in elevation. Expect Highway 177 to be closed from Cottonwood Falls to Strong City. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 9.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 13.4 feet early tomorrow afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage late Friday morning. - Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
