...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas...
Cottonwood River at Cottonwood Falls affecting Chase County.
Cottonwood River near Plymouth affecting Lyon and Chase Counties.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast.
* WHERE...Cottonwood River near Plymouth.
* WHEN...Until Saturday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 34.0 feet, Road A becomes completely inundated near
the river gage site, south of Hwy 50. Expect flooding of crops and
fields.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 33.7 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 34.0
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
tomorrow evening.
- Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
Instruction:
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
