Description:
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central,
northeast, and southeast New Mexico, including the following
areas, in central New Mexico, Central Highlands and Eastern
Lincoln County. In east central New Mexico, Curry County, De Baca
County, Guadalupe County, Quay County and Roosevelt County. In
north central New Mexico, East Slopes Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
In northeast New Mexico, Eastern San Miguel County, Far Northeast
Highlands, Harding County, Johnson and Bartlett Mesas Including
Raton Pass, Northeast Highlands and Union County. In southeast New
Mexico, Chaves County Plains.
* WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through late Sunday night.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage and
intensity across eastern and portions of central NM Sunday,
then persist through Sunday night over the same area. Heavy
rain is expected, with rainfall amounts generally ranging
from 1-2 inches. Higher spotty totals near 4 inches are
possible.
