Description:
A Significant threat of flooding continues across Puerto Rico due
to the excessive rainfall activity observed over the past week.
Rainfall accumulations have surpassed 15 inches in some areas,
especially along the interior and mountain sections, where soils are
saturated and river levels are elevated. Due to these hazardous
conditions, the Flash Flood Watch has been extended through this
evening. The primary threats include: urban and small stream
flooding, river flooding, flash flooding, mudslides and landslides,
particularly in mountainous, steep terrains. Additionally, strong
thunderstorms capable of producing additional heavy rainfall are
expected, especially during the afternoon.
Residents and emergency management partners are urged to remain
vigilant, especially in flood-prone and steep terrain areas.
Continue to monitor official updates and be prepared to take
immediate action should Flash Flood or Flood Warnings be issued.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be
flooded. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris.
Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are
possible. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood
with more heavy rain.

- Shower and thunderstorm activity is forecast to continue
developing today, especially during the afternoon, affecting
affected areas. Most of the river and stream continues
running with high values and soils are saturated. Therefore,
the potential for flooding still present through this
evening.
