Description:
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...The Hermits Peak and Calf Canyon burn scar across the East
Slopes of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains and part of the Northeast
Highlands and Southern Sangre de Cristo Mountains.
* WHEN...From noon MDT today through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Widespread shower and thunderstorm activity and expected
training of shower and thunderstorm activity this afternoon
and early evening will result in locally heavy rainfall
amounts of 0.25 to 0.75 inches. This added rainfall combined
with saturated soils from above normal rainfall these last
few weeks may create added runoff and rapid rises in streams
over and below the burn scars.
