...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING FOR
WESTERN AND CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA...
.Critical fire weather conditions will occur this afternoon
through this evening over western and central North Dakota.
Temperatures will climb into the mid 70s to mid 80s with relative
humidity values dropping as low as 15 percent. Southerly winds
will increase to 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 40 mph. Any fires that
ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control.
The National Weather Service in Bismarck has issued a Red Flag
Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect
from noon CDT /11 AM MDT/ today to 9 PM CDT /8 PM MDT/ this
evening. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* WINDS...Southerly at 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 15 percent.
* AFFECTED AREA...Western and central North Dakota.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become
difficult to control.
