MANZANO MOUNTAINS, AND WEST CENTRAL BASIN AND RANGE DUE TO STRONG
WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER...

BASIN AND RANGE, SANDIA/MANZANO MOUNTAINS, AND CENTRAL HIGHLANDS
FOR TODAY AS EXPIRED...
This afternoon's red flag warning for the west central and central
New Mexico has expired as winds will continue to taper off and
humidity will continue to rise behind a Pacific front overnight.
Another round of gusty west to northwest winds south of a trailing
upper level disturbance will create critical fire weather
conditions in south- central and southwestern areas again Monday
afternoon. A stronger Pacific cold front will move through the
area Monday and there is a low chance of gusty virga showers with
its passage across northwest and central areas.
* AREA AND TIMING...Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106) and West
Central Basin and Range (Zone 109) Monday afternoon from 12PM
to 8PM MDT.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest to west winds 20 to 30 mph with
gusts to 45 mph today then west to northwest winds 20 to 30
mph with gusts 40 to 50 mph on Monday.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...6 to 12 percent today and 10 to 15 percent
Monday.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
