Description:
At 830 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Lomax to 14 miles west of Garden City, moving
southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE...Lomax measured a wind gust of 66 MPH.
IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Big Spring, Garden City, Forsan, Lomax, Big Spring Country Club, Big
Spring McMahon-Wrinkle Airpark, Elbow, and Spraberry.
This includes Interstate 20 between mile markers 161 and 175.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
