Description:
At 251 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Surf City to Masonboro to Caswell Beach, moving
east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Public.
IMPACT...Expect wind damage to trees and power lines.
Locations impacted include...
Wilmington, Oak Island, Carolina Beach, Wrightsville Beach, Kure
Beach, Surf City, Caswell Beach, Bald Head Island, Figure Eight
Island, Rich Inlet, Masonboro Island, Hampstead, Southport, Topsail
Beach, Myrtle Grove, and Masonboro.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.

or large limbs downed, by calling the National Weather Service office
in Wilmington at 1-800-697-3901.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
