Description:
At 259 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Rogersville, or 15 miles northwest of Athens, moving northeast at 45
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Good Springs, Cartwright, Coxey, Elkwood, Lester, Holland Gin,
Leggtown, Hazel Green, Coldwater, and Blanche.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for
north central and northwestern Alabama...and Middle Tennessee. A
Severe Thunderstorm Watch also remains in effect until 800 PM CDT for
north central Alabama.
