Description:
At 325 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Vardaman, or 10 miles west of Houston, moving east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Pittsboro, Slate Springs, Thorn, Chiwapa, Egypt, Reid, Sabougla,
Loyd, Pyland, Vardaman, Woodland, Thelma, McCondy, Atlanta, Tyson,
Retreat, Okolona, Dentontown, Buena Vista, and Wallfield.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 500 PM CDT for
northeastern Mississippi.
