Description:
At 639 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Camp Hill to Tallassee to near Dannelly
Field. Movement was southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Franklin, Warriorstand, Beulah, Beans Mill, Loachapoka, Uphapee
Creek, Lake Tuskegee, Auburn University, Fort Davis, Tuskegee
National Forest, Beauregard, Tuskegee, Chewacla State Park,
Davisville, Bleecker, Liverpool, Smiths, Robert G. Pitts Airport,
Shorter, and I 85 Rest Area.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for
south central, southeastern and east central Alabama.
