Description:
At 1133 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 4
miles west of Indian Land, or near Fort Mill, moving northeast at 30
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Indian Trail, Tega Cay, Fort Mill, South Charlotte, Matthews,
Stallings, The Arboretum, Pineville, Carowinds, and Southwest
Charlotte.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
Conditions are favorable for development of a very brief, weak
tornado. Be prepared to take immediate action if a tornado is sighted
or a Tornado Warning is issued.
