Description:
At 201 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Albuquerque, moving north at 30 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Bernalillo, Corrales, Los Ranchos De
Albuquerque, Rio Rancho Intel Area, Cabezon, Paradise Hills, Vista
Hills and North Valley.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 154 and 165.
Highway 550 between Mile Markers 3 and 4.
Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 223 and 238.
Instruction:
Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.
Heavy rains from severe thunderstorms can produce sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos, ditches and over low water crossings. Do
not attempt to drive through areas where water covers the roadway.
