Description: 
At 401 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 7 miles north of Elkview, or 15 miles northeast of Charleston, moving north at 25 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Ripley, Sissonville, Clendenin, Kenna, Statts Mills, Harmony, Given, Kentuck, Fairplain, Gay, Walton, and Gandeeville. This includes the following highways... Interstate 79 between mile markers 10 and 18. Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 117 and 137.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
