At 540 PM MDT, trained weather spotters reported pea to dime sized hail with a strong thunderstorms near Twin Bridges, or 14 miles northwest of Sheridan, moving northeast at 20 mph. Additional thunderstorm development is occurring across northwest Madison county with storms tracking north into southern Jefferson county through 700 PM MDT. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail in addition to lightning and brief moderate rainfall. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Sheridan, Alder, Silver Star, Twin Bridges, Cardwell, Melrose, Laurin, Waterloo, and Whitehall.
