Description:
At 1204 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Elysian Fields, or 13 miles southeast of Marshall, moving north at 45
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Oil City, Deberry, Nesbitt, Waskom, Caddo Lake, Gray, Karnack,
Elysian Fields, Jefferson, Mooringsport, Marshall, Lodi, Darco,
Woodlawn, Leigh, Cavett, Uncertain, Jonesville, Smithland, and
Bethany.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 400 PM CDT for
northeastern Texas.
