Description:
At 309 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 9
miles southwest of Palmeto State Park, or 13 miles west of Gonzales,
moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Gonzales, Flatonia, Moulton, Waelder, Cistern, Muldoon, Palmeto State
Park, Leesville, Freyburg, Oak Forest, Newtonville, Elm Grove, Engle,
Belmont, Nickle, Cost, Floy, Little New York, Thompsonville, and
Ottine.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 600 PM CDT for south central
Texas.
