Description:
At 610 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Duralde, or near Basile, moving northeast at 60 mph.
HAZARD...Half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Chataignier, Basile, Mamou, Ville Platte, Reddell, Indian Lake,
Savoy, Chicot State Park, Duralde, and Eunice.
This includes Interstate 49 between mile markers 42 and 45.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 900 PM CDT for central and
southwestern Louisiana.
