At 759 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Crowley, moving east at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and nickel size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Opelousas, Port Barre, Maxie, Mire, Arnaudville, Crowley, Church Point, Carencro, Branch, Grand Coteau, Lyons Point, Breaux Bridge, Riceville, Cecilia, Estherwood, Indian Bayou, Cankton, Rayne, Sunset, and Broussard. This includes the following highways... Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 76 and 120. Interstate 49 between mile markers 1 and 20.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
