At 922 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Kaplan, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to vegetation and outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Meaux, Abbeville, Maurice, Erath, Kaplan, Milton, and Lafayette.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for south central and southwestern Louisiana.
