Description:
At 859 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 6 miles northwest of Metairie to near Avondale
to near Larose. Movement was east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Chalmette, Luling, Poydras, River Ridge, New Orleans Armstrong
Airport, Jean Lafitte, Myrtle Grove, Lakefront Airport, Ama,
Destrehan, Avondale, New Orleans, Estelle, St. Rose, Woodmere,
Metairie, Elmwood, Violet, Terrytown, and Lafitte.
This includes the following Interstates...
Interstate 10 in Louisiana between mile markers 215 and 255.
Interstate 310 between mile markers 1 and 6.
Interstate 510 between mile markers 1 and 3.
Interstate 610 between mile markers 1 and 4.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
