Description:
At 502 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Allgood, or near Oneonta, moving east at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Oneonta, Ashville, Allgood, Inland Lake, Highland Lake, Whitney
Junction, Horse Pens Forty, and I 59 Rest Areas At Oneonta.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM CDT for
central and northeastern Alabama.
