Description:
At 610 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms near Phillips Crossroads, or 13 miles southeast of
Kinston, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Kinston, Phillips Crossroads, Deep Run, Vanceboro, Askins, Cayton,
Comfort, Fort Barnwell, Jasper, Tuscarora, Petersburg, Pleasant Hill,
Wilmar, Wyse Fork, Ernul, Dover, Cove City, Hargetts Crossroads, and
Trenton.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
