Description:
At 624 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Half Moon, moving east at 45 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Jacksonville, Half Moon, Pumpkin Center, Piney Green, Stella,
Swansboro, Hubert, Cape Carteret, Richlands, Maysville, Silverdale,
Kellum, Midway Park, Catherine Lake, Belgrade, Petersburg, Kuhns,
Peletier, Bogue, and Richlands South.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio

and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
