Description:
At 805 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles east of Woodbine to 6 miles southeast
of Stephen Foster State Park to near Needmore. Movement was east at
40 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 45 to 55 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
St. Marys, Kingsland, Hilliard, Folkston, Woodbine, Fargo, Kings Bay
Base, Stephen Foster State Park, Homeland, and Kings Ferry.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
