Description:
At 941 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from Hazard to 6 miles north of
Overton to near Eustis. Movement was southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Lexington, Ravenna, Elm Creek, Bertrand, Elwood, Overton, Odessa,
Pleasanton, Amherst, Sumner, Riverdale, Miller, Rockville, Hazard,
Smithfield, Poole, and Johnson Lake.
This includes Interstate 80 between mile markers 228 and 264.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
These storms may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 100 AM CDT for
south central and central Nebraska.
